Team Kochi

Team Kochi is one of the new entrants in this edition of Indian Premier League. Mahela Jeyawardane their most expensive foreign recruit is likely to lead their team. Sreesanth is picked up by Team Kochi as expected for $900,000. Kochi bid aggressively for Gautam Gambhir and Yusuf Pathan but lost both of them to Kolkatta Knight Riders.

Team Kochi bought ten foreign players and their batting will depend on them as VVS Laxman and Parthiv Patel are not established Twenty20 batsmen. Brendon McCullum, Owais Shah, Michael Klinger, Brad Hodge were among the batters in the team They went on to strengthen their bowling department by bagging RP Singh and Vinay Kumar for $500,000 and $475,000 respectively. The Most surprising and questionable buy is of Ravindra Jadeja, who was bought for an astounding $900,000. Steven smith of Australia will now play for Team Kochi.

Former Pakistan Coach Geofrey Lawson will coach Team Kochi which is yet to be named officially. Only four foreigners can be included in playing eleven, so tough times ahead for team Kochi if they don’t act wisely and pick the best of upcapped players.

  1. our team is not so stronger when compared to another 9 teams……. i think vvs laxman is not a right selection for ipl. our strenght is our bowling when compared to our batting.if we bowls well under the leadership of murali, there is a small chance to pass to the semi final…………
